See you on the mat - in person or online 🧘♀️
Part 3: An affirmation talks to the mind—a belief or thought we want to reinforce. A mantra talks to the nervous system. 🧘♀️
When you chant a mantra, you rhythmically regulate your breath, use your voice to create sound, your auditory system hears the sound, your body feels the vibrations, and you focus the attention of the mind. You aren’t just shifting your mindset; you’re regulating your biology.
Mantra works with the whole body, not just the mind.
Interested in mantra? Come join Fall Equinox: Mantra + Meditation on Saturday September 19 from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Join in person at Nourish & Move in Mount Lebanon or online through Zoom. See more info in link in bio.
Try not to dump into the front of your hips. Even out your hips to straighten your spine.
Use your ribs to improve your practice: protect your lower back, twist better, and get deeper into backbends. Don’t miss the next round of the Signature Focus Series this Sunday at 9am at yogasix_cranberrytownship
Part 2: How mantra changes our thoughts 🧘♀️
Our minds are always repeating something—thoughts, memories, worries, expectations, assumptions. By repeating a mantra, we give the mind something intentional to return to in the present moment to shift our thoughts and our focus. Over time, this practice can support concentration while helping us become more aware of the patterns that naturally capture our attention. What are you giving your attention to?

Reminder to self… Be authentic. Be genuine. Be true to yourself. Be all of who you are.
Part 1: What is mantra and why is it repeated? 🧘♀️ The first time I chanted mantra during a Kundalini class, I thought it was weird. But after a while of chanting, something happened. My mind started to get quiet. The judgement stopped. The outside world fell away. I let myself fall into a rhythm, and I began to feel calm and relaxed. Discover how mantra works and how it can help.
