Monarchs Make a Comeback 12/18/2025

The World Wildlife Fund reports that The Eastern Monarch population has doubled from 2024 after years of decline. Thank you to everyone that has helped create new pollinator habitats and abstained from using pesticides and herbicides. We need to keep up the work in America as well as to support the conservation of the forests in Mexico that serve as the Winter nesting grounds for the species

Monarchs Make a Comeback Monarch butterfly numbers nearly doubled in 2025, thanks to better weather and improved forest protection in Mexico.

Here is a fun outdoor event for the family...

We invite you and your little ones to make edible ornaments with us in our riverside education center on Saturday, November 15!

In this FREE make-and-take activity, we’ll use pine cones and other natural items to create decorative, hanging treats to tempt birds to your yard.
We’ll have hot cider and snacks, stories, and more.

This activity is for kids (saplings!) of all ages. The program is free, but registration helps us plan. Visit treepittsburgh.org/edible-ornaments to register today!
