Unlock Perfect Technique with the Vardanian Sn**ch!
The Vardanian Sn**ch—a variation of the Sn**ch in which the hook grip, bar contact, and foot movement are eliminated—helps build an efficient and technically precise Sn**ch technique. By eliminating these key elements, you can develop better timing, more fluid movement, and a straighter bar path.
Why incorporate the Vardanian Sn**ch?
No Hook Grip:
Removing the hook grip forces lifters to rely less on the violent hip extension in the explosion and emphasizes using the upper body in the final extension. This combo improves the bar path and reduces the likelihood of swinging the bar out with the hips.
No Foot Movement:
By keeping their feet flat on the floor, athletes can focus on a full, controlled extension. This allows them to stay connected to the floor longer and avoid premature movement that can disrupt balance and timing.
No Contact:
Without the bar contacting the hips, the lifter is forced to continue accelerating the barbell with the use of the legs and upper body together. Encouraging a straighter, more efficient movement.
This powerful variation can be easily programmed into lighter technique days or used as a primer before heavier Sn**ch sessions. Build better technique and master the movement with this exercise, used by legendary lifters like Norik Vardanian.
And don’t forget, CoachLogik is here to help you track your progress and program effectively with our all-in-one coaching platform! ⚡️

Barbell Trajectory in the Sn**ch: How It Changes Over Time
As athletes progress through a training macrocycle, their barbell trajectory in the sn**ch changes! 📈 A study analyzed bar height and speed across training phases and weight classes. Athletes pulled the bar higher in competition phases compared to preparatory phases, but catch height remained consistent. 💥 The takeaway? Technique stabilizes during competition, while variability is seen in the preparatory phase due to fatigue.
