South Hills Ball Hockey

After the Invaders fell in their Sunday morning quarterfinal tilt, Sass ‘N Spades looked to right the ship for the South Hills program.

Sass ‘N Spades would win their semifinal matchup in dominating fashion. This would set up a championship with Offsides (Hamilton, ON), as Sass looked to avenge their round robin loss on Saturday.

Offsides would hold a lead late in the game as Sass looked to find the equalizer. With the goalie pulled and just over a minute remaining, Cam Kitchener would knot things up to send the game to OT. After the teams exchanged chances for nearly 10 minutes, Nik Halaburka would carry the ball through the neutral zone and beat 3 defenders before finding the back of the net.

Congratulations to Nik Halaburka and Pennie Stotler for their MVM and MVF individual awards respectively!

Sass N’ Spades and the Invaders head to Nashville this weekend to take on the loaded field in the Music City Bash hosted by Cool Hockey Events!

The Invaders get the weekend started, as they take on Dogg Pound on Friday at 1:50pm. They’ll finish round robin in a matchup with Ella’s Fellas at 9:30am on Saturday.

Sass ‘N Spades squares off with a tough Vengeance team on Friday at 5:30pm before taking on Offsides Saturday at 1:10pm.

All three South Hills teams made deep runs this weekend, with Sass ‘N Spades and Bandits both making it to their respective finals! The Invaders would fall short in the semi-finals to the eventual Novice division champions.

Congratulations to Sass ‘N Spades on their Coed C championship, and individually to Cara Honeywell (MVF) and Dave Deuerling (MVG)!

The Bandits (D), Invaders (Novice) and Sass ‘N Spades (Coed C) are all set to travel to Gloucester, NJ this weekend to take on the competition at Spring Classic hosted by Cool Hockey Events!

The family is back in action this weekend as the Bandits and the Invaders debut their new-look Tier 3 squads at the Midwest Regional Tournament, hosted by Mark Madden!

It all kicks off Friday night as the Bandits take on the Mallards.
Saturday evening, they’re back at it with matchups against Sylvester’s Cleaning and the Chicken Tenders.

⚔️ Invaders Schedule
The Invaders hit the rink Saturday afternoon against the Columbus Dukes.
They’ll then battle the Apocalypse before their annual Saturday late-night showdown with Mean Machine!

All games take place at Bridgeville Rollerplex.

After the Invaders and Sass ‘n Spades both fell in their quarterfinals matchups, the Bandits were focused on bringing home at least one championship to the South Hills program.

They would defeat Berserkers early Sunday to advance to the semifinals where they would take on the New York Pigeons. The early power play opportunities proved to be a difference, as the Bandits would gain momentum and carry that with them to a 5-1 win.

The Bandits were set to take on a familiar foe in the Atlantic City Chimney Fish, in what was the game of the weekend. After the Chimney Fish scored their lone goal midway through the first, the Bandits battled back to tie it at 1 with just under two minutes remaining in the third. Two overtime periods were not enough. The game continued into a third overtime, when Hunter Hardy put home the game winning goal off of the glass behind the net to earn the Bandits the Men’s D division championship title.

Hunter Hardy earned the MVP with his championship winning goal, while Damian Calvert earned MVG honors after allowing just five goals in five games.

All three of our adult teams are in action this weekend, as they take on the field in Pottstown, PA at the Bye Week Classic hosted by cool hockey events! They come into this tournament with a new look to each team!

The Invaders (Novice) take on the Fusion and the Sharks, while the Bandits (D) match up with the Chimney Fish and the Demons. Sass n’ Spades will square up with the Nukes and His & Hers.
