Taconic High School Names Brian Jezewski as Head Football Coach for New Era of Co-Op Program

Pittsfield Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Brian Jezewski as the new Head Football Coach at Taconic High School, ushering in an exciting new chapter for the district’s football program.

The 2026 season marks a historic moment as student-athletes from both Taconic High School and Pittsfield High School will come together to compete as one unified team through a newly formed co-operative program. This initiative is designed to strengthen opportunities for student-athletes, enhance competitiveness, and build a unified football culture across the city.

Coach Jezewski brings more than 20 years of dedicated service to the Pittsfield High School football community and the broader Pittsfield Public Schools. Known for his commitment to student-athlete development, leadership, and community pride, Jezewski has played a vital role in shaping generations of players both on and off the field.

“Brian has been a cornerstone of football in Pittsfield for over two decades,” said district officials. “His passion, experience, and unwavering dedication to our students make him the ideal leader to guide this new co-op program. We are confident he will build a culture of unity, accountability, and success.”

Coach Jezewski expressed excitement about the opportunity to lead the combined program.

“This is a special moment for football in Pittsfield,” said Jezewski. “Bringing together student-athletes from both schools creates a unique opportunity to build something bigger than ourselves. I’m honored to lead this group and look forward to developing a program that our schools and community can be proud of.”

The co-op team will focus on fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride while creating new opportunities for student-athletes to compete at a high level. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by both schools and the district to provide the best possible athletic experience.

This past weekend, members of the Pittsfield and Taconic Girls Flag Football teams had the incredible opportunity to attend the Girls Flag Football Kickoff Event at Gillette Stadium!

Walking into one of the most iconic stadiums in the country was an unforgettable experience, but what makes it even more special is that these student-athletes are helping build something brand new right here in our community.

Being part of a team means more than just competing on the field. It means:
Building lifelong friendships
Learning leadership and communication skills
Developing confidence and resilience
Representing your school and community with pride

As participants in one of the fastest-growing high school sports, our girls are true trailblazers. They are setting the standard, creating opportunities for future generations, and showing what’s possible when courage meets commitment.
