Mike K. walks into the club sometimes in a muscle-tee, sometimes in a hoodie looking like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable, and always with a stone cold face. But he immediately breaks into a smile and a pleasant hello. Once you get to chatting with Mike, you find out he’s a smart and hilariously funny guy with tons of epic tales, who also takes his fitness seriously. He can hit with heavy hands, he can flurry with speed, and he is always in work mode. Still never met a combo that can flummox this guy. Still haven’t found a number of burpees he won’t do. We admire his discipline, good nature and personal boxing style- not only does he know what he’s doing, he looks like it! So say hey to “King Handsome” next time you see him at the club! Maybe just yell “Burpees!” Read more about Mike below:
Q: What first got you interested in TITLE Boxing Club?
A: I've been a boxing fan all of my life. I did a little boxing in the Marine Corps. I'm officially 2-0. I've always had a heavy bag to workout with. Hitting the bag in the basement gets boring. I was looking for more of a structured workout.
Q: What motivates you to work so hard?
A: If you’re not working hard, you're not putting any effort into your workout.
Q: What was your favorite subject in school?
A: My favorite subject in school was history.
Q: Do you have a favorite punch/kick/combo/etc.?
(Alex - you can say, “Burpees!”)
A: My favorite punch is the left hook to the body.
Q: What do you do when you’re not at the club?
A: I'm very busy outside of the club. I race dirt bikes on sundays from April - November. I also try ride at least once during the week. I workout at home 4 days a week. I love going out to watch live music and dirt track racing at Land of Legends Speedway.
Q: What would your fighter walkout song be?
A: My walkout song would be Wait and Bleed by Slipknot.
Q: One fun fact that nobody knows about you? Until now! 7.
A: Fun Fact. I set my own broken nose after a skiing accident back in 1996.
