🇺🇸🏐 U23 NORCECA BEACH VOLLEYBALL — SILVER MEDALISTS! 🥈

What an incredible experience for Team USA and EliteVBTC’s own Hudson Bates, who traveled with the team as a coach for the U23 NORCECA Beach Volleyball competition!

The guys put together an outstanding tournament, going undefeated all the way to the finals before facing a more experienced team from Mexico in the championship match. After building a small lead in the second set, Team USA couldn’t quite hold on, falling 21-19.

What makes this run even more impressive? The guys are just 19 years old, competing against a field largely made up of 21- and 22-year-olds! 💪

We’re incredibly proud of Hudson and Team USA for representing our country on the international stage. Experiences like these build confidence, develop future leaders, and help shape the next generation of beach volleyball talent.

Congratulations to Hudson and Team USA on an incredible tournament and a silver-medal finish! 🇺🇸🏖️

Tryout Tip #14 🏐
Most of the time, athleticism trumps volleyball fundamentals.

Don’t overthink your technique. Instead, be an athlete. Run hard, jump high, and love playing the game!

Tryout Tip #13 🏐
Leave your phone in your bag.

Don’t be tempted to take it out during a water break. Stay focused on the court and the opportunity in front of you.

Tryout Tip #16 🏐
Get your tryout paperwork turned in early!

The last thing you want your athlete worrying about on the morning of tryouts is getting paperwork completed.

Tryout Tip #15 🏐
GET EXCITED!

It’s OK to show emotion in volleyball. Run around the court, pump your fist in the air, and celebrate when your team gets a block or you get an ace!

Let your energy show.

Tryout Tip #18 🏐
It’s better to make a mistake going 100% than to be timid.
Play aggressive. Trust yourself. Give it everything you have.

Tryout Tip #17 🏐
Walk into tryouts, make eye contact with the coach or evaluator, and confidently say, “Hi, Coach,” with a smile.
They used to be players just like you!

Tryout Tip #19 🏐
NEVER LOOK AT YOUR SHOELACES.
Be confident, even after making a mistake. Looking down after an error can show a coach a lack of confidence.
Instead, make eye contact with a teammate and tell her, “I’ll make the next ball better.”
