Westlake Cricket Club in partnership with Plano Tigers Cricket Club smashed PICC Knights in their opening match of T20 Legacy Cup 2017, winning the game by 6 wickets.
The team displayed some stunning fieldwork with some great catches & super quick stumping action, restricting PICC to a total of 157 at the end of 20 overs.
While batting, the batsmen were on a roll from the very first over, hitting some huge sixes & amazing boundaries. Nitin Ranjan crossed another 50 mark hitting 4 Sixes & 2 Fours.
The team completed chase of 158 in 17.1 overs with 6 wickets to spare.

Westlake Cricket Club bounced back into the series by winning their second match of 2017 Open T-20 Cup against Strikers XI Dallas by 88 runs.
Batting first, Westlake put up a respectable total of 178/4 in 20 overs.
Nishant Shah got back his batting form and made a quick 35 off 23 balls. Star batsman Vikram Khanna continued his class by scoring 70 off just 37 balls.
At bowling, Nitin Ranjan compensated for what he couldn't do with his bat by taking 3 wickets.
Bhushan Chirmade followed the suite by sending 3 more batsmen back to the stands.
But the best was reserved for Krishnamurthy, who came in after a long winter hibernation. He took 3 wickets with 5.5 economy rate.
From 57/4 at the end of 10 overs, Strikers XI Dallas were all wrapped up for 90 by 15th over.

Westlake CC Chases 265 in 24.4 overs to Enter Quarter Finals of NTCA T20 Winter Cup

The high scoring game started with some very expensive bowling by openers. Spinners were brought in early but that too didn’t help much.
The first breakthrough was provided by Nishant Mohapatra supported by Mayank Saxena who took a long leap catch (& a deep scratch) at Deep Mid Wicket to break the opening partnership.
Adi Dixit proved his might again by a quick caught & bowled. He ended up getting 2 important wickets. From the other end, Nishant Shah & Faisal Akhtar took 2 wickets each. Adi Dixit & Faisal Akhtar lost out on a few more wickets for some misfields.
Aided by dropped catches & a deep lineup, the Cheetahs managed to put a mammoth score of 264 in 25 overs.

The real treat was offered by Westlake’s Batsmen who were on the offensive from the very first ball.
Satender Bhatia & Nitin Ranjan built a very strong opening partnership of 85/ 9 overs with some exceptional boundaries. Satender scored a quick 18/16 balls with 3 boundaries, while Nitin Ranjan went on to hit 51/ 32 balls with 9 well timed boundaries.
Then came ace batsman Faisal Akhtar who sent opposition in a tizzy with his masterstrokes in all directions. Nishant Shah & Anurakt Dixit provided him much needed support by rotating the strike regularly while he slammed the opposition. But a controversial catch at the boundary ended his inning in 22nd over. With 13 four’s & 1 six, he ended up making 85/ 43 balls.
With asking rate of over 13 by 18th over, Anurakt Dixit brought in all his experience to play with an unbeaten 47/ 18 balls comprising 3 sixes & 4 fours.
From 41 required off 18 balls, the team was down to 12 off last over. Asif Iqbal Shaikh, who replaced Bhushan in 24th over wasted no time & stole the show hitting a boundary, classic six & then the winning four . He ended up making 14 in the first 4 balls of 25th over itself.

This was the highest ever winning chase by Westlake, and it became all the more special having beaten the #1 team in NTCA T20.

Westlake had a dissapointing comeback after a long spell of washout games..
The team managed to put a leash on opposition, bowling them all out at 176, but lost out on batting.
United CC's opening partnership was broken early by quick fielding from Amin Chintan & keeper Asif Iqbal Shaikh, who as always didn't miss a chance.
The spinners continued to have a day by taking regular wickets, supported by some good catches by JJ & Satender Bhatia. Little champ Adi Dixit continued to impress everyone with his 3 wicket haul. Ashwin Somasundaram & Prabir Sabat ended up getting 1 wicket each, while JJ snatched 2.

Westlake's batting failed to take off today with the top order back to the stands by 3rd over. Prabir Sabat & JJ tried to stabilize the innings and push the run rate forward, but fell under pressure due to lack of support from the non strikers end. The tail enders didn't offer any support either, with 2 run outs in a single over. The team ended up putting a meager total of 98 runs.

In a nailbitting finish Westlake Cricket Club Won their first match of NTCA Winter Cup 2016 against Lanka Colts by 4 wickets.

The team had a good start with bowlers doing an impressive job under very cold conditions. Lanka Colts were restricted to 139/5 until 20 overs.
The last 5 overs proved very costly with Lanka Colts managing to leap up to the total of 200/7 at the end of 25 overs.
Nishant M destabilized the opposition by sweeping 5 wickets under his belly. Little Champ Adi too got 2 important wickets.

WCC had a solid start with Nitin Ranjan & Satender opening the innings gathering runs . Nitin Ranjan(43/41) was later joined by Vikram Khanna who remained unbeaten at 71(45).
Anu & Vikram kept the runs flowing and took the score to 189 by 23rd over. The innings saw classic drives from Vikram and a six off Anu's bat.
But things became dramatic with Anu's wicket, which was followed by 3 consecutive wickets in 24th over.
Vikram displayed his class & temperament once again, hitting a four on the second last ball of the innings, brining victory to the team..
