Our family of 10 is deeply committed to supporting our son Declan “Cass” Prchal in every aspect of his life. His four sisters, aged 28, 17, 16, and 10, along with his three brothers, 26, 19, and 17, play an active role in fostering his confidence and encouraging his interests. He has had an active IEP since the age of 3, ensuring he receives the tailored educational support he needs. We’ve engaged him in various activities, including softball, karate, and swim safety training, which help him build skills and confidence. Our family has also attended several walks to raise awareness, including events for World Down Syndrome Day. To further support children with special needs, I created the “Gobble Wobble Cake 5k Run” to raise funds for his school. Together, we strive to create an inclusive and loving environment that empowers him to thrive.

Juneteenth Celebration returns to Plano on Saturday The third annual Juneteenth Celebration is returning to Plano on Saturday at Emily G. Johns School. The event runs from 11 to dusk, ending with a fireworks show.
