Today we’re recognizing something that’s been well earned for a long time.

Coach Tye was originally scheduled to receive his second degree in his black belt back in January 2026. But with the busyness of life, we didn’t get the chance to properly stop and honor it the way it deserved.

So today, we make it official.

Tye is one of the most dedicated people on the mat. Over the years, he has helped train and impact hundreds of students at Cobra BJJ. His consistency, work ethic, and willingness to show up for others is what truly sets him apart.

He’s not just someone who trains hard — he’s someone who builds people.

This degree represents time, sacrifice, and a lot of unseen work behind the scenes. And if you know Tye, you know he’s only getting started.

Noreen, Nathan, and James Watts stepped up and competed at the FNL tournament in Arlington, while Alex, Jeff Scott, Darryl, and Esper represented Cobra at the IBJJF Open.

Competition is never easy. It takes courage to walk out there, test yourself, and face opponents who may be stronger, more experienced, or simply better that day. But that’s what growth looks like.

These athletes chose the harder path. They showed up, fought with heart, and represented our academy with discipline and respect.

Win or lose, we are proud of every one of them. This is how champions are built.
