We’re proud to announce Emmanuel Rodriguez (Sport & Exercise Science – BS) and Marco Pu Chum (Engineering – BS) as this year’s SFUYSA scholarship nominees for Florida International University! 👏⚽🎓

Both Emmanuel ( #2130337) and Marco ( #28747202) have been dedicated members of the South Florida United Youth Soccer Association for years, showing that success on and off the field starts with commitment.

A Message from the SFUYSA League President

This is not meant to be a political or religious matter or statement. Everyone has the right to support any candidate for office and practice any religion they choose (or none). We respect those rights and hope for mutual respect in return.

Over the weekend, we were deeply saddened to hear about the tragic attack on the Golan Heights in Israel, which took the lives of at least 12 children who were simply playing soccer.

From this tragedy, there might be a way to convey an important message to parents, coaches, and supporters of youth soccer about the value of perspective. Our young athletes have the incredible opportunity to play the sport they love in a safe environment, free from the fear of such events.

This perspective might help us remember the importance of sportsmanship and gratitude. It could resonate with those who sometimes overreact to a missed call by a referee or a game that didn’t go their way. Perhaps, through this heartbreaking event, we can find a "teaching moment" to instill the perspective needed when children play sports.

SFUYSA Playoffs Semi-finals and Finals for the Fall and Spring Season will be May 4 and 5 at Plantation's Central Park. Divisions with Quarterfinal matches will be played at the home team site unless the teams agree to a change. Those games need to be completed in time to decide the matchups for the Semi-Finals. Dear SFUYSA Family,

I have spots in the following divisions if anyone is interested. There will be no late fee if anyone wants to take a spot in any of the following divisions. Note it is first come first serve and once the opening is spoken for any additional teams to that division will incur the standard late fees. Also, this is NOT an opportunity for you to switch divisions.

Fall Season Schedules have been posted (Aug 15) and most games are set to start after Labor Day except for the older age groups where High School Soccer may complicate completion. As is always the case, we have some teams that did not form and others that formed late. There are a few openings in select divisions that we will try to keep updated on the league website (sfuysa.com). However, if you have a team you would like to try and get into the Fall Season, please reach out to Jeff Kurzner, VP of Competition.

Fall Season Declarations CLOSING

Declarations for South Florida United Youth Soccer Association 2023 Fall Season are closing soon. The deadline to guarantee a spot was July 15th, but we are keeping the declarations open for a little longer as several clubs have reached out for more time to get them in.

The first play weekend of the Fall Season is typically right after labor day for most divisions U9 to U14. U15 and up may try to move to the week before depending on the number of teams participating in order to try and limit scheduling games deep into the HS season.

Note that all clubs must be current on their expenses in order to declare teams.
