Jessica helped that situation! We all thought the same who know hitting! But she nailed it this morning! So we could watch the single best performance in a game ever from a P/DH! She got Ohtani back in gear!

It’s always going to be panic situations! Know the situation. Slow the game down a sec. Know there are 2 outs and know what play you make if the ball is hit to you. Happens on every level. Panic can’t take over. The slow breather is the player that stands out. I preach this religiously to my hitters, my defense and pitchers. Handle the moment. Let your brain slow the game down a sec and let the brain put the plan in place. Brain has to work quick, mind has to understand what it was told beforehand. You can’t make this mistake. It happens on all stages. Hate to see it. But, understand the game, understand the situation and gather the plan. You have 2 min or less to do so. That’s what separates the best from the good. If you didn’t watch like most youth today to understand what I’m talking about, watch the replay on TikTok or something. There were 2 outs, his catcher even tried to help just throw to 1B. SLOW THE GAME DOWN IN YOUR HEAD, if you want success! As a hitter, fielder and pitcher. Enjoy baseball all lol! It’s a in the moment game!

Rest in peace skip! Best meeting I had with Mr. Johnson, I was done with my career and working for the Marlins in the Media Relations Dept. My job at end of game was to deliver end of game stats to the Managers. Davey was at his desk, Marlins whooped the Dodgers good. I walked in left stats and tried to walk out. Davey said close the door, this coach was like hiding behind door closed it on me. I turned around and he said, “son, what the hell am I gonna do with these!” I just sat there ready to be yelled at. Finally he laughed and said, “just kidding, thank you bud.!” I was so relieved didn’t know what to do, and I said, “well since you have me here, thank you for 1986 Mets Championship, I love ya skip!” He stood up hugged me and said thank you kid. Class act! Thankful had that moment. Rest in peace skipper. This kid , thanks you for one of my best memories. Thoughts and prayers to all your family and friends. 🙏🏽
