Hi! I’m Kaitlin! I’ve been a swim instructor and lifeguard for 20 years. Starting at a young age I was a competitive swimmer for many years.

Teaching children and adults how to swim and improve their swimming skills is a huge passion of mine.

As the weather starts getting warmer and soon the sun will be setting later, here are some helpful water safety tips to remember.

1. Always supervise children around water.
2. Learn CPR – it can save lives.
3. Use life jackets in and around open water.
4. Teach children basic water safety rules.
5. Install barriers around home pools.
6. Avoid distractions when supervising swimmers.
7. Stay within designated swimming areas.
8. Be cautious of strong currents in open water.
9. Stay hydrated, especially in hot weather.
10. Learn and practice basic swimming skills.
