The World Tang Soo Do Association proudly welcomes you to the 2027 U.S. National Championships, returning home to Region 9 where it all began!

The story of the U.S. Nationals began in 2017, when Grandmaster Robert E. Beaudoin approached Master Efrain Valentin with a vision. During his travels, Grandmaster Beaudoin had seen the excitement generated by national events held between World Championships in Europe and Latin America. He believed our members in the United States deserved that same opportunity to train, compete and come together as one Tang Soo Do family.

At the 2019 Region 9 Championships, Grandmaster Beaudoin officially announced the inaugural U.S. National Championships. Later that year, the first event was held in Stamford, Connecticut and a new WTSDA tradition was born.

From the beginning, the U.S. Nationals offered unique training and competition opportunities. At Grandmaster Beaudoin’s request, team forms and team sparring were introduced, along with a new tradition of presenting our Grand Champions with distinctive awards.

🏆 In 2019, our Grand Champions received championship belts.

🔥 In 2021, they received fire-themed trophies.

🌆 In 2023, Chicago celebrated its champions with trophies featuring the city’s iconic skyline.

🏄 In 2025, Master Hutchinson and his team took us to the “Battle at the Beach,” featuring surfboard awards and championship rings.

Now, in 2027, the U.S. National Championships are coming home to Region 9—the home of Grandmaster Robert E. Beaudoin.

We are proud to welcome WTSDA members from across the United States, along with our international Tang Soo Do brothers and sisters, to beautiful Providence, Rhode Island, for:

Today, we are proud to officially unveil our championship logo but we are not revealing everything at once!

Over the coming weeks and months, we will introduce our championship belts, trophies, medals and plenty of other exciting surprises being created especially for this historic event.

Begin making your vacation and travel plans now. Gather your students, families and teammates and prepare to join us on the Rhode to Victory!

The journey begins now. We’ll see you in Rhode Island!

🎉 Today is our Back-to-School Buddy Bash and Open House at our Plantsville Campus!

Bring a friend, stop by, and spend some time with us. We’re here today from 10 AM to 1 PM and again tonight from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Friends who want to participate will need a completed permission form. We’re excited to see everyone! 🥋

Karate doesn't compete with other sports. It helps kids become better at them!

Did you know that learning to spar in karate can help your child become a better athlete in ANY sport they choose? It's true!

Sparring helps kids develop faster reflexes, better coordination, balance, agility, and the ability to think quickly under pressure. It also teaches them to anticipate their opponent's next move and stay focused!

Woot woot! Logan passed his test and got his 1st stripe!

Passing your 1st stripe is a BIG deal and a HUGE step in getting your black belt! This is the 1st of two stripe tests Logan will have to pass on his way to test for black! Way to go!

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001 a day that forever changed our nation.

We pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the courageous first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away, and the many survivors, families, service members, and communities who continue to carry the weight of that day.

September 11 is not only a day of remembrance it is also a National Day of Service. One of the greatest ways we can honor those we lost is by serving others with kindness, compassion, and unity.

Perform an act of kindness. Help a neighbor. Thank a first responder. Support a veteran. Give your time to someone in need. No act of service is too small when it comes from the heart.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember. We still honor. And through service above self, we ensure that their legacy lives on.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
