Big performance day for the Marching Pioneers in Milwaukee on Saturday! In addition to playing the national anthem at the Brewers game that night, we will also be playing a 45-minute concert at the Zablocki VA Hospital starting at 1:30 pm which is open to the public. Hope to see you there!

Last Blast time set:

Due to a 2 pm basketball game the same day, our Last Blast performance will take place at 10 am at Williams Fieldhouse on Sunday, November 8. We will have an 8 am dress rehearsal that morning to prepare for the concert.

Itinerary for Marching Pioneers Brewers/VA Hospital and Outing

Saturday, September 26

9:30 am – Load buses in Pioneer Athletic Center parking lot (bring food to eat on the bus, we will not be able to stop and eat lunch – no messes left on the bus, please!)

10:00 - depart for Milwaukee

11:00ish - Pick up others at Highway 51/Beltline Park and Ride in Madison

12:30 pm - Arrive at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, unload truck, get into uniform

1:00 - Sectional warm-up

1:30 - Concert begins

2:30 - End of concert, load truck and buses

3:00 - Leave for the stadium

3:30 – arrive at American Family Field

4:00 – Re-warm up on your own

4:10 – tailgate performance tour

5:10 – finish tailgate tour

5:30 – play anthem on the field

6:00 – return to buses (get changed, grab a ticket and go watch the game)

9:00ish – load buses

9:30 – depart for Platteville

11:00ish - Drop off Madison folks at Park and Ride

Midnight – arrive in Platteville (properly load shed and go home)

Yesterday was another stellar day to be a Marching Pioneer. Starting with Dairy Days Parade, followed by game day at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium. Final score: UW-Platteville 59-University of Dubuque 0. Great job, Pioneers! Here are some photos of the band.

Would you like to perform with this year's Marching Pioneers?
Homecoming is fast approaching. On Saturday, Oct. 10, UW-Platteville will be celebrating Homecoming, and we would like to invite you to come and play with the band. There will be a mandatory rehearsal at 11 am that day at the track (just across the street from the stadium). At 12:30 pm, we will march over to the stadium. If you plan to perform with the alumni color guard, please email me at [email protected]. The songs you will be playing with us are "Shake A Tailfeather" and the School Song (we will have copies of the School Song at rehearsal).
