More rain and a healthy new calf! Praise the Lord!

Praise God! The last 24 hours brought healthy babies and almost 4” of rain! Amen!

The spring calves are dropping! Fortunately almost all have gone well. We only lost one calf to a first time mom, but fortunately it looks like the mom will be ok. Thank the Lord for the recent rain too!

Sometimes the Lord laughs at us and he sure was yesterday. We thought the red mom had twins and we chased the little Molly faced guy all over yesterday trying to get him contained with what we thought was his mom…we were exhausted, so was he. Then we prayed a lot, hoping he’d still be alive today…sure enough after some more searching today, he was just hanging out with his actual mom and doing just fine! I guess we got a good workout in and learned another reminder to put our trust in Him and not always try to control things ourselves!

Over the past week or two we’ve been constantly trying to keep the cows warm and fed and the pipes from bursting…after all the hard work, we’ve been rewarded with the first two calves of 2026!

Purchased more hay to ensure we make it through winter. We’re continuing to pray for rain!

Happy New Year to all! Please pray for mucho rain in 2026, our grass and oak trees need it! In our area it’s been even worse than this graphic depicts…but we know God will provide and will continue to bless us in the new year!

The view is always beautiful, but it’s a little better when you’re finally moving the last bales out of the field!
