WTTC February Open & News

Dear Ponger,

The February Westchester Open is this weekend, Feb. 21-22, and for the first time in three months it looks like we won't be blasted by a giant snowstorm (fingers crossed!).

Star Player
An international visitor here this month is Taiwo Mati ("Matty") from Nigeria, who plays professionally in Le Havre, France. He's currently ITTF-ranked #234 in the world and has been ranked as high as #61.

As usual, players will be competing for $10,000 in prizes, including $3,000 for first.

Registration can be done at StadiumCompete.com ... or in person upon arrival.

Prize Milestone
In the history of the monthly Westchester Open, since 2011, we've awarded $985,685 in cash prizes. This weekend we'll pass $995,000, and next month the total should go over $1 million -- the first time this amount of prize money has ever been awarded by a U.S. table tennis club.

New Feature
Something new this month: We'll be showcasing the best of the best players on Sunday with a live show beginning at 4:30. Tahl Leibovitz and Timothy Cudjoe will emcee. There will be interviews with players, table tennis quizzes, and games involving the audience. I hope you can attend. If not, you can watch the livestream on YouTube click on the link below:
