It's a double to start off 2021!

Your January & February players of the month are sisters Cailin and Reagan Ge**er! Both sisters have been with us since 2018 training in various private and private group settings. These Tonka Fusion Elite players show great passion in their development as players! They continue to adopt the ball skill and finishing work they work on at the shop into their individual game on the field.

Here is their Q & A interview!

Q: Favorite Player and/or Team and why?

A: Cailin: I support Manchester United, but I love watching Kevin De Bruyne play on Manchester City. De Bruyne always works hard and sets up his teammates for scoring opportunities and that's what I like to do.

A: Reagan: My favorite team is USWNT and my favorite player to watch is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I like his mentality on the field and the amazing tricks and goals he scores.

Q: What do you enjoy most about training at Starting XI?

A: Cailin: The drills are challenging and push me to become a better soccer player but I still have a lot of fun. It's also fun to do extra training with my teammates.

A: Reagan: I like how I can work on whatever aspect of my game that I want to improve on. I see a difference in my game in a shorter period of time than I would without Starting XI.

Q: What are your future goals within your soccer endeavors?

A: Cailin: I want my team to keep our undefeated record and win State this year. I would love to make the Varsity team in high school and continue to play soccer in college.

A: Reagan: I want to play collegiate soccer at the D1 level. Notre Dame is my dream school.

Q: What is the best part about playing competitive soccer?

A: Cailin: I like playing other competitive teams that make me work harder. I also like being creative with the ball in the midfield. We all support both the team and each other individually.

A: Reagan: I value the bonds I make with my teammates and competitive soccer pushes you both as a player and a person - not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH:

COLLIN PANNHOFF

Collin is a member of the 2006 Tonka Fusion Elite team and is the first 8th grader in the history of Hopkins High School to make the Varsity team. Collin has been training with us for two years in the private 1 on 1 setting and the Boys Advantage Program. He has also attended many one-day camps during the school year along with summer camps. Many of his coaches see Collin as an edge player (mainly Right Back) but Collin thinks he is starting to get more comfortable playing at the 6 (defensive central mid) as he has been seeing minutes there for Hopkins. Some of the best attributes Collin has is his ability to compete in tight area one vs one battles and his ball striking!

Here is Collin’s Q & A interview:

Q: Favorite Player and/or Team and why?

A: My favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo because I love to watch his style on the field, watch him score great goals and his passion to win games.

Q: What do you enjoy most about training at Starting XI?

A: I like playing the 4v4 futsal matches to small goals and I love aiming for the top corners on the SKLZ finishing net.

Q: What are your future goals re: your soccer endeavors?

A: I simply want to win at the highest level. I want to win State Cup with my club team, win State during my High School career and eventually win some sort of Championship in College

Q: What is the best part about playing competitive soccer?

A: I like to score and assist goals. But mostly, I love playing soccer with my friends and peers.
