After a lot of thought, excitement, and a whole lot of emotion, Dave and I are incredibly happy to share that TA Fitness Plymouth is beginning the process of transitioning to new ownership!
Twelve years ago, Dave and I started TA Fitness with a simple vision: to make the sport of ninja accessible, welcoming, and fun for everyone. Six years ago, we opened our Plymouth location with the hope of introducing even more kids, families, and adults to this sport we love so much.
Now, we’re incredibly excited to pass the torch to Alex Cordeiro and Loryn Irwin. We’ve known Alex since he was 16, and over the years we’ve watched him grow into an incredible athlete and an even better coach and person. Loryn has become not only an amazing ninja, but also a wonderful friend. We truly couldn’t have asked for two better people to take TA Plymouth into its next chapter.
The transition will begin October 1st, and the gym will be getting a new name: PlymX Obstacle Fitness!
For our current members and level program families, nothing is changing right now. Your memberships and programs will continue as they are. Alex and Loryn also have some awesome ideas for new classes, offerings, and events, so we’re excited to see what they build from here! For our NENA Team members- you'll continue your season with your new team jerseys (and they are fire!).
One bittersweet piece of this news: our WNL event on September 26th will be the final event hosted by TA Fitness Plymouth. But don’t worry - PlymX Obstacle Fitness already has events on the schedule, so this certainly isn’t the end of ninja in Plymouth!
And finally, we just want to say thank you.
Thank you to every family who walked through our doors. Thank you to every kid who nervously stepped onto the course for the first time. Thank you to every parent who trusted us with their kids. Thank you to every ninja who fell, failed, tried again, and eventually surprised themselves with what they could do.
Most of all, thank you for believing in what Dave and I set out to do all those years ago.
We hope that somewhere along the way, we encouraged a young ninja who might otherwise have been too scared to try. We hope we helped someone find a little more confidence in themselves. And we hope we created a place where people felt like they belonged.
We are sad that we won’t get to sit in that gym anymore and watch all of that happen. But we also know that we couldn’t have asked for two better people to take our place.
We’re so excited to watch Alex and Loryn take PlymX Obstacle Fitness into its next chapter, and we hope you’ll continue to support them, challenge yourselves, and most importantly -have fun doing ninja.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be using our social media to relay information about your new gym so keep checking back and if you have a favorite memory you’d like to share with us - please leave it in the comments! 💙💜
TA Fitness Weymouth is not affected by this at all. If you're a part of our Weymouth gym we just wanted to share the news with you as well.
If you have specific questions please feel free to email [email protected] - we're happy to help.
