Our Story
In 1993, our son Geordi, (Geo), was born with a developmental disability that impacted his intellect, his speech and his balance. At the age of 10, Geo still couldn't ride a two-wheeler despite many hours of practice & therapy. Congratulations!
CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS! Special Olympics athlete Chris Nikic made history Saturday. He became the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman triathlon! Guiness World Records recognized Nikic's achievement after he finished a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-marathon run at the Ironman Florida competition in Panama City Beach. He completed the race in 16 hours 46 minutes and 9 seconds -- 14 minutes under the 17-hour cutoff time. Way to go, Chris! ❤️

Students with disabilities have the right to a free, appropriate public education. That right is protected by federal law and enforced by the U.S. Department of Education.
Right now, those protections are being threatened.
This means families could lose a place to turn when schools do not follow the law. Educators could lose access to clear guidance and experts who help them meet their students’ needs. And students with disabilities could lose the critical supports they need to succeed.
That is why we have joined a federal lawsuit to stop the dismantling of the Department of Education and defend students’ rights.

New Year Brings Big Changes For ABLE Accounts Access to accounts that allow individuals with disabilities to save without losing government benefits will expand dramatically and people with the accounts will be able to save more than ever before.
