Dance from your HEART

Today, I want to wish everyone the experience of opening your heart and dancing from that place.

Technique is very important. It gives our body capacity, control, balance, coordination, and a vocabulary of movement. It teaches us how to transfer weight, use our center, create rhythm, and move with clarity.

But technique is only the tool.

After enough practice, we have to begin trusting that the body already knows what to do. We do not need to calculate every step anymore. We can let go of perfection, quiet the mind, and allow the body to feel.

This is where dancing from the heart begins.

Everyone learns many of the same technical principles, but every person has lived a different life. We carry different emotions, memories, struggles, love, and joy. When we allow those real experiences to move through the body, the dance becomes honest and authentic.

You are no longer dancing only from technique. You are dancing from who you truly are.

Technique gives the body the tools, but the heart gives the movement freedom, meaning, and life.

It is not only about what other people see. It is about what you feel inside your body when you move. There can be a moment when you stop performing the dance and you become the dance, the movement, and the music.

That is when dance can become medicine. It can bring peace, freedom, joy, and a deeper feeling of being truly alive.

I wish everyone could experience this at least once, because after you feel it, dance may never be the same again.
