We are currently seeking interested candidates to take our fall lifeguard class. We will be offering more this winter and spring but we are actively hiring lifeguards for the fall and winter so a lifeguard job is available upon completion and successful interview process. You must be 15 yrs old to attend the class and to be hired. Lifeguards work limited after school hours during the fall, winter and spring. All candidates must complete a pre-course training before being eligible to sign up for the Nov. Class. The Community Center will be offering a Fall Lifeguard Training program starting in November. There is a mandatory pre-course swim testing that must happen prior to signing up. Pre-course trainings are held on Wednesday's at 7:15 pm beginning September 9, 2026. The pre-course testing sessions are free of charge and will be offered every Wednesday night until November 11. These sessions are designed to evaluate candidates, with conditioning and stroke improvement assistance available on-site. Age Requirement: candidates must be 15 years or older. We are offering a blended learning course requiring 7 hours of online coursework to be completed at home prior to the first in-person date. The course schedule is as follows: November 16, 18, and 20 (Mon, Wed, Fri): 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM and November 21 (Saturday): 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

The registration fee is $70 which is collected upon successful completion of the pre-course to secure a spot on the roster.

We are planning our annual 2 week maintenance closure. The Park and Recreation Offices will be open but the facility and pool will be closing Aug 24 and we will reopen Tuesday after Labor Day Sept 8.

This Saturday is the first fun run of the season, the Spring Scamper!

If you haven't registered yet, you can register online until Wednesday at noon.

Registered runners, you will receive an email with information on Wednesday afternoon - be sure to check your junk folder if you don't see it.

Packet pickup will be at the Community Rec Center from 4-6:30PM on Friday. In-person registration will also be open during packet pickup.

The race is Saturday at OK Ward Park. 10k walkers start at 7:30, all other divisions start at 8.

We have already surpassed last year's registration numbers and we're looking forward to a big crowd for the race!
