We had SO much fun at the Health & Wellness Expo at Jackson Health System + UHealth!

We had the opportunity to share our program and talk about the benefits of scuba diving for people living with spinal cord injuries. Even better? We got to hang out with some of our friends, meet some new faces, and hopefully introduce a few more people to the underwater world!

We can’t wait to get you guys in the water.

DPV Super Hero Dive Day was one for the books!
Instructor Dani showed us how to use all the toys, and we headed down to the Okinawa Wreck in Pompano Beach to put those skills to the test!

A Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) can be an incredible tool for divers with mobility challenges. It can help conserve energy, assist with navigating currents, and make getting around underwater more accessible; opening the door to greater independence and more freedom to explore.
But like any piece of dive equipment, proper training is essential. Always learn how to safely and effectively use a DPV from a qualified instructor before taking it underwater.

🤿🌊 CONGRATULATIONS to our newest Open Water Divers! 🌊🤿

Not 1… not 2… but 3 NEW DIVERS earned their Open Water certification this weekend! 🎉👏

A huge shoutout to each of them for putting in the time, learning the skills, building their confidence, and showing us they’re ready to explore the underwater world! 🐠💙

Two of our newly certified divers are hearing impaired, and we want to give a HUGE shoutout to our amazing interpreter! 🫶 Thank you for your time, energy, and dedication in helping make this experience accessible and inclusive.

We also had the incredible honor of certifying a veteran diver. 🇺🇸 It’s a privilege to share the ocean with you. Thank you for your service and for allowing us to be part of your diving journey. 💙

🤿💙 Pretty cool to have a davit on your boat! 🤿💙
But for us, it’s more than just cool, it helps our adaptive divers and dive buddies safely and comfortably get in and out of the water.
Having the right equipment can foster independence, build confidence, and allow our divers to experience the ocean with greater ease and dignity.
A HUGE shout-out to our Safety Officer, Don! What you don’t see is the time, thought, and energy that goes into finding the right parts and building a system that is safe, effective, and works for our divers. We couldn’t do it without you!
And a big THANK YOU to South Florida Diving Headquarters for allowing us to install and use the davit on your boat when we’re out diving with y’all!

What an awesome Veterans DSE! 🇺🇸🤿
We started in the pool, sharpened our skills, then headed out for two amazing dives!
🌊
Despite some rough conditions, our Veterans persevered and had an incredible day.

We saw eagle rays, nurse sharks, southern stingrays, goliath grouper, and so much more!
We’re so lucky to have these beautiful reefs in our backyard and honored to share them with our Veterans.
