Ponchatoula Area Recreation District #1 (Ponchatoula Recreation Park) is a recreational facility offering a wide range of activities for southern Tangipahoa Parish. Our complex is located on a beautiful 90 acre tract of land off Hoover Road just east of Ponchatoula. Our facility has a mile long paved walking/jogging trail that is enjoyed daily by many people throughout the area. We have a playgrou

nd with many activities for young children. A large pavilion offers a perfect place for families to spend time together for birthday parties, school functions, and other social events. We have many football and baseball fields for recreational leagues for children of all ages. A pond stocked with fish allows people without a boat a chance to enjoy catch and release fishing. The indigenous live oaks and pine trees along with other landscaped areas offer a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. Our state of the art double gymnasium, completed this year, includes two courts, a concession area, walking track and conference room. Recreation District Board Members:

It’s time for touchdown season! Games start tomorrow at 9am!! See you at PARD!

09/11/2026

Today, some of our PARD team members laced up their shoes and took on the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Southeastern Louisiana University to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001.

And while we’re proud to say most of our team made it to the end we’re also going to be honest… those stairs did not play around. 😅 Every step was a little harder than the last, but knowing what those steps represented made the challenge worth every bit of the effort.

Today, we climb to remember. We climb to honor. And we climb with gratitude for the heroes who gave everything on 9/11.

We will never forget. #9/11

What a wonderful way to kick off our Fall Into Nature series! 🌿🐦

We had a fantastic turnout for our first workshop, Intro to Birding, and our participants left with a whole new appreciation for the incredible birds that can be found right here in our own backyard.

A special thank you to our presenter, Alex Landry of Pelican Park Nature Club, for sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for birds with us. We’re grateful you helped get our Fall Into Nature series off to such a great start!

🎁 Congratulations to our door prize winner, Jan Linton!

And a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, Christa Stewart and Inspiring Minds Prep, for helping make this nature-focused programming extra special. Your support helps us create opportunities for our community to learn, explore and connect with the natural world around us. 💚

This is just the beginning! We have plenty more Fall Into Nature workshops coming up, so stay tuned and come discover something new with us. 🌳🦋🌙
