Our mission is to deliver park and recreation experiences that promote healthy lifestyles, enhanced social connections, and fun in our community. We are proud to offer 10 beautiful parks, state-of-the-art facilities including the Community Recreation Center, access to the Natatorium Pool, the Humiston-Riverside Splash Pad, a Downtown Ice Skating Rink, a variety of programs for all ages and populations, an adaptive recreation program, and more. Do you ever wonder what our Parks staff do behind the scenes? Today, their work included cleaning up after disrespectful behavior and vandalism in our parks.

Unfortunately, damage and misuse of our facilities often means we have to lock them, making them unavailable to the responsible community members who want to enjoy them.

Help us keep our parks clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. If you see vandalism, damage, or other inappropriate behavior, please report it to our Parks staff or the appropriate authorities. Together, we can help take care of the parks we all enjoy.

Want to be part of the fall fun at Fall Fest? We are looking for people and businesses to be craft vendors, food vendors, and volunteers for Trunk-or-Treat. It is $30 for craft vendors. Food vendors need permits from Pontiac City Hall and the Health Department. Everyone must fill out a sign up form. Please call us at 815-844-6818, stop by the Rec Center at 900 N. Fall is nearly here. What better way to celebrate the fall season than at Chautauqua Park on October 24th for our annual Fall Fest? It will run from 3:00-6:00pm and feature DJ Jay, balloon artist Doug Smith from the Unique Twist, Trunk-or-Treat, inflatables, train ride, hayrack ride, food & craft vendors, petting zoo, and more!

Unfortunately, the pool sand filters malfunctioned this morning and therefore the pool will close until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Pontiac Township High School is working with the State to expedite the repair process and reopen the pool as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

After the success of our inaugural Pumpkin Splash, we are bringing it back on Friday, October 9th at 6:00pm! This event is $15 per child and open to children of all ages. Please bring floaties and life jackets. The registration deadline is October 2nd. Call us or visit the Rec Center to register your child.
