⛵️ Our Learn-to-Sail program is officially underway at Port Clinton Yacht Club!

This week, our Level 2 sailors hit the water and are already hard at work building their sailing skills under the instruction of coaches Juanma, Tincho, and Lola. The Level 2 program will continue throughout the first three weeks of June, and we’re excited to see these young sailors continue to grow in confidence and ability on the water.

If you still have a child interested in learning to sail this summer, there are still a few spots available in our Level 1 classes and both of our Intro to Sail sessions. It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn new skills, make friends, and develop a lifelong love of boating.

Registration is available in the bar, and our full Learn-to-Sail calendar can be found in the Learn to Sail section of the Port Clinton Yacht Club website.

We look forward to another great summer on the water! ⚓️☀️

The Port Clinton Yacht Club Junior Race Team kicked off the 2026 I-LYA Traveler’s Series today at Buckeye Lake, just east of Columbus, under the coaching of Juan Manuel Campos and Martin “Tincho” Gwozdz.

💥 In the Laser 4.7 division, Lola Coan sailed to a 1st place finish, while Alex Bodager earned a strong 5th place finish.

PCYC was also very well represented in the Opti Gold fleet with three sailors competing:
⛵ Ben Schramm placed 2nd in Opti Blue and 4th overall.
⛵ Charlie Lorenz placed 3rd in Opti Blue and 6th overall.
⛵ Mia Withers placed 8th in Opti Blue and 13th overall.

We are incredibly proud of all of our sailors for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship as they represented PCYC in the first regatta of the season. This is a talented group, and we’re excited to watch them continue to grow throughout the summer.

Congratulations, sailors! We look forward to cheering you on next weekend at the Erie Yacht Club regatta in Pennsylvania.

⛵️ PCYC Jr. Race Team Update ⛵️

Two of our PCYC Jr. Race Team sailors competed today in the final high school regatta of the spring series at The Foundry at the Historic Whiskey Island Coast Guard Station — and they both had outstanding performances!

🏆 Ben Schramm represented The Foundry and Rocky River High School. Ben sailed as crew, alongside his partner Charlie as skipper, and together they placed 1st in the B Division. Rocky River High School also earned 1st Place Overall for the regatta!

🏆 Lola Coan represented the Sandusky Bay High School Sailing Team and Vermilion High School. Lola sailed as skipper with Molly Dunfee as crew, and together they placed 3rd in the B Division, helping Vermilion High School secure 3rd Place Overall.

We are so very proud of these Jr. Sailors! They are shining examples of the wonderful Junior Sailing program at PCYC both on and off the water.

Great job, sailors! ⛵️💙

⛵💙 THANK YOU, PCYC! 💙⛵

What an incredible night at the Jr. Sail Silent Auction and Captain’s Fish Fry!

On behalf of the Junior Sailing Program, THANK YOU to everyone who supported the event by donating items, bidding generously, volunteering their time, and lending a helping hand throughout the evening. The support from our PCYC community was absolutely amazing, and we are so grateful.

A special thank you goes out to the Captains and everyone on their committee for another outstanding Fish Fry. The dinner was absolutely delicious, and we truly appreciate all of the hard work, preparation, and long hours that go into making this event such a success each year.

We were also incredibly proud of our Jr. Sailors, who showed up in great numbers last night to help bus tables, handle trash, assist with the auction, and represent the program so well. Many members commented on how much they enjoyed interacting with the kids and appreciated their efforts throughout the evening.

Most importantly — we had an absolute blast! 🎉

The money raised through this event makes a huge difference in the quality of coaching, equipment, and opportunities that we are able to provide for our Jr. Sailing Program. Thank you for helping us continue to build an amazing experience for our kids both on and off the water.

We truly appreciate everyone who helped make the evening so special!
