WHAT HAPPENS IN MODERN DANCE CLASS?
In this class, dancers will learn the foundations of modern dance and build dance technique, musicality and artistry with the support of visuals, props, instruments and music. In addition to honing modern dance skills and concepts, students will discover the history of modern dance through exploring the techniques and styles of 20th century modern dance masters such as Isadora Duncan and Alvin Ailey. Each week, a portion of class will be devoted to dance-making and choreography, encouraging students to improvise, find their creative voice, and collaborate and bond with their fellow dancers.
