His third fight against Sam McVey was 'A Fight to the Finish' and Joe was victorious after 49 brutal rounds in which both fighters hit the canvas numerous times (the fight lasted between 2 and a half hours and 3 and a half hours depending which report you read and attended by over 2 thousand people). Joe and Sam fought 5 times. Fight 1 Joe won on points over 10 rounds. Fight 2 Sam won on points over 20 rounds. Fight 3 Joe won by KO in the 49th round. Fight 4 was a 30 round draw. Fight 5 was a 12 round draw. Joe Jeanette was born in 1879 and died in 1958. RIP Champ 🥊
