Water is everywhere. So is the risk.
The bathtub. The pool. The bucket in the garage. Drowning doesn't wait for a beach trip β it can happen anywhere water collects, in seconds and in silence.
Here's how to make your home safer:
π§ Secure every barrier β pool fences with self-closing/self-latching gates, door alarms, and locked access to any standing water.
π§ Empty it when you're done β buckets, kiddie pools, coolers. Even a few inches of water is enough.
π§ Supervise like it's your only job β no phones, no "just a minute." Active, uninterrupted eyes on kids near any water source.
Water doesn't need to be deep to be dangerous. Know someone with little ones at home? Share this post β you could be the reason a family stays safer. Be a water safety advocate. π

Before you buy your kids' swimsuits for the season, think about visibility. π©±π
The Reality: Drowning is the #1 leading cause of death for children ages 1β4 in the U.S. (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
Because water emergencies happen fast and silently, your eyes need to be able to lock onto your child instantly.
β Skip these: Blues, greens, whites, and dark neutrals. They mimic water reflection or look like shadows/debris at the bottom.
β
Buy these: Neon orange, neon pink, neon yellow, and bright red. Testing shows these maintain the highest visibility under water and through splashes.
Swimsuit color isn't a substitute for designated water watchers and swim lessonsβbut it is a simple, lifesaving layer of protection.
Spread the word to save a life. π
