The wireless industry is changing, and JOY Inc. is helping shape the conversation.

We’re proud to share that Stephen Angulo, Vice President of JOY Inc., will take the Main Stage at the 2026 Wireless West Conference in Las Vegas as a panelist for:

This photo is picture proof that I have had a rope in my hand since I was 2 years old. It is also proof that I have always had wicked-awesome fashion sense.

Over the years, I have enjoyed the sport, hobby, craft, and lifestyle of roping and cowboying. I have also had the honor of teaching many people, young and old, the fine art of the rope and the skills of roping.

Often, when someone says, “I want to learn how to rope,” what they really mean is, “I want to be good at roping.”

But being good at something requires time, energy, focused training, and a willingness to be bad at it for a while.

I often tell people that if they really want to become good at roping, they should carry a rope everywhere and rope everything that moves. This is what kids do to develop a sixth sense with a rope!

Throw 27.4 shots per day, and you will throw approximately 10,000 shots in one year. Practice for 10,000 hours, and you may become pretty good at roping.

I have dedicated thousands of hours to this craft, and I still often feel like I have only scratched the surface. It is fun, but it is also challenging.

If you really want to become good, or maybe even great, at roping, the thought, the wish, and the dream will not get you there.

Hours and hours of practice will.

Rope burns will.

Missed shots will.

A sore shoulder will.
