New Coach alert!
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Coach Madeline Gonzalez began playing volleyball at the age of 12 and went on to build an accomplished career as a collegiate and professional setter.
Madeline played at Hillsborough Community College, where she earned All-American honors, helped lead HCC to a 2006 State Championship, and later had her jersey retired in recognition of her career. She continued her collegiate career at the University of West Florida, where she was a setter, team captain, All-American, and team MVP.
Following college, Madeline returned to Puerto Rico and played professionally in the Federación Puertorriqueña de Voleibol, representing the Llaneras de Toa Baja and Gigantes de Carolina. She was a member of the 2009 Professional League Championship team with Llaneras de Toa Baja.
Madeline’s coaching career has included experience at the club, high school, professional, and collegiate levels. She has coached with Tampa United Volleyball Club and Lizards Volleyball Club in Florida, as well as Corozal Volleyball Academy and Christian Military Academy in Puerto Rico. She later served as an assistant coach for professional powerhouse Pinkin de Corozal, where she was part of a Puerto Rico Professional League Championship team.
After returning to the United States, Madeline served as an Assistant Volleyball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Saint Leo University from 2013–2016, working extensively in player development, recruiting, and collegiate-level training.
Madeline holds Level I, II, and III coaching certifications through the Federación Puertorriqueña de Voleibol and has continued her development through coaching mentorship, observation, and collaboration with other coaches and collegiate programs, including time with the University of Florida volleyball program and its coaching staff.
Today, Coach Madeline brings her experience as an All-American, professional player, champion, and collegiate coach, along with years of experience developing athletes at multiple levels, to the next generation of volleyball players.
