Our Suncoast Warriors Judo Family really came together this past weekend to make the 2026 Battle of Warriors a fun, organized event. Putting these tournaments together is always an insanely difficult task with Jon and I getting little to no sleep leading up to the event. This one was especially tough with me being gone the wknd before at Senior Nationals and having Aubrey who normally helps alot away training in Spain. Huge shout out to Jon and Blake for doing anything and everything needed to help get things done. We couldn’t have done it without the help of the entire team (past and present members) and their families that helped before, during, and after. There were many stand out moments from my team. The hard work setting up before, our medic team led by Kelli Neros aiding all of the athletes, our parents and athletes running 2 score tables, manning the awards table, snackbar, etc. Polk and George took on the role of coaching and did a fantastic job. We had first time competitors, first scores, firsts wins, first losses, first golds, first time in advanced divisions, goals met, challenging themselves in multiple divisions going up in age, weight, and/or rank, and new goals set. Watching them cheer for eachother, congratulate eachother, and console eachother. Seeing how supportive and positive the Suncoast parents are through all the blood, sweat, and tears. Everyone putting in a helping hand with many showing up Friday night and helping all day Saturday while also competing. We managed to come home with 9 Golds, 9 silvers, and 4 bronzes with less than 15 competitors. I couldn’t be any prouder of my team. I wish I had more pictures of you all shining so bright. Thank you for your trust in me and trust in the process!! Thank you for making it so fun to be your Coach. And thank you for ALWAYS making me proud ❤️🥋
