BLACK BELT HABITS START BEFORE THE BLACK BELT. 🥋

In fact, they can start with our littlest martial artists.

This week, some of our Little Dragons were learning how to frog hop — which was every bit as cute as it sounds.

But even in something that simple, they were practicing bigger skills: listening to instructions, watching carefully, following directions, taking turns, and giving something new a try.

For our Little Dragons, becoming a black belt is still a long way down the road — but the habits that help build one are already beginning.

Black belts are built in little moments like these.

That’s why our Black Belt Habits Challenge is about more than what happens in class. We want students practicing strong habits at home, at school, and on the mat — whether they’re just beginning their martial arts journey or have been training for years.

This week, ask your child: “Which Black Belt Habit did you practice today?”

Curious what Youth Martial Arts at CMA could look like for your child?

We’re in your corner, Logan! ❤️

Our Champion’s Resolve begins with “I will do my best every day.” On the mat, Logan has practiced what that means: learning something difficult, working through frustration, and finding the courage to try again. His martial arts training has helped him build perseverance and confidence he can carry into challenges beyond the mat, too.

“I am a champion” is about more than a belt or a victory. It’s about the effort, humility, and determination we bring to each day - and Logan has a whole CMA family behind him, cheering him on.

If you’d like to support Logan and his family, gift cards can be dropped off at the front desk at CMA. We’ll make sure they get to the family. You can also scan the QR code in the graphic to contribute through GoFundMe.

Logan, you’re part of our CMA family, and we’re with you through the hard days and every step forward.

Many of you may have seen the heartbreaking news this weekend about the 11-year-old boy who was struck by a van while riding his bike in Grafton.

That young man is Logan — one of our CMA students and part of our martial arts family. ❤️🥋

Until now, I intentionally did not identify Logan on our public page. My first priority was respecting Logan, his grandma Becky, and their family's privacy during an incredibly difficult and frightening time.

Now that Logan's story has become public, I want our community to know who this amazing young man is — and, more importantly, I want Becky and her family to feel just how many people are standing behind them.

Logan was seriously injured and is fighting an incredibly difficult battle right now.

We talk with our students every week about courage, perseverance, strength, and continuing forward when things get hard. Right now, Logan is showing a kind of courage no 11-year-old should ever be asked to show.

Becky, please know that you and Logan are not going through this alone. Your entire CMA family is standing with you.

CMA families, friends, and members of our community — please fill the comments below with some love for Logan and Becky. ❤️

Let them see just how many people are thinking about them, praying for them, cheering for Logan, and sending strength their way.

We love you, Logan. Keep fighting. Your CMA family is right here with you. ❤️🥋

Get a workout—and learn a real skill while you do it.

Adult Martial Arts at CMA combines movement with learning an actual martial arts technique: an instructor teaches it, you practice it, and you build the skill one rep at a time.

It was a great week at Championship Martial Arts!

A few favorite moments from the mats—some focused, some fun, and all part of the work our students put in each class. 🥋

A difficult combination takes more than speed.

Watch the timing, control, and focus these teens bring to every movement.

Getting better at something hard takes practice. 🥋
