Calling all boaters! Get your LED lights out. Downtown Port will be hopping Sunday with the the Cardboard regatta at 2 pm and Paint on Port celebration in Rotary Park 3-8 pm with live music and food trucks. Let's put on a great show. Must fill out an entry form in the marina office to be eligible for great prizes, dockside or on the water displays. Parade starts at 8 pm.

Calling all boaters. Get your LED lights out of the basement and decorate your boat for the Venetian Night Lighted Boat Parade. Fabulous prizes. Free to enter. 2025 Clipper Cup
The sailors aboard the 35 sailboats had a rocking good sail from Muskegon to Port Washington yesterday. The 15 to 20-knot southerly wind made for a fast sail across Lake Michigan. Three Port Washington Yacht Club boats took the top three overall places. 3rd overall was Nick Suddendorf’s Uzivo, Dan Garcia’s Sweet Freedom was second overall and 1st overall was Tom Petersen’s Elyse. The Clipper Cup fleet is underway, racing from Muskegon to Port Washington. Conditions are right for a fast race, with the first finishers arriving by mid to late afternoon if the wind holds. Follow on the YB Tracker app.

Welcome Sea Scout Ship 7992! Come to the open house at the club 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the Yacht Club, 430 N. Lake St. There will be information on the organization, activities, refreshments and the opportunity for teenagers and young adults ages 14 to 20 to sign up to be part of Sea Scouts Ship 7992.

Commodore Joe Eernisse (left) accepted the charter for Sea Scout Ship 7992 of Port during the club’s meeting last month. Also on hand were (from left) Greg Latsch, unit commissioner of the Kettle Country District of the Bay-Lakes Council of Scouting America, who is helping establish the Ship; Cliff Polheber, the skipper, or adult leader, of the Ship; Jeff Eagen, district executive for the Kettle Country District; and Dan Garcia, the club’s liaison to the Sea Scouts. The club is the sponsor of Ship 7992.

Busy holiday weekend in Port Washington harbor. Saturday is the Port Rendezvous Regatta. Sunday at 2 pm is the Cardboard Boat Races. At 8 pm is the annual Venetian Night Lighted Boat Parade. If you have a boat and some lights, it's not too late to enter. Stop in the Port Washington Marina office for entry forms. Great prizes!
