I think we should wear costumes for the entire month of October - kind of how we now celebrate our birthday all month long (that's not just me right?).

Costumes, cupcakes (I have no idea if they planned cupcakes for breakfast but whoever's in charge of food - if you're reading this - I vote for cupcakes), and of course GOLF.

This year's La Fiesta Hispana will be held at the VyStar Pavilion That means we will follow the facility's guidelines and restrictions. Here are some things to know as you plan to attend the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

The pavilion has permanent seating for 3,000+ people. It holds 5,200 seats but we're utilizing the pit area for a kid zone, vendors and a LARGE dance floor.

Share with your neighbors. This will be our biggest La Fiesta Hispana yet!

Sept. 25th: 5:30PM - 9:00PM
Vendors - Food Trucks - Live Music by Los Adolescentes - Fireworks at 9PM.

We're excited to introduce and welcome the newest member of the Port Wentworth Recreation Department, Hannah Marlow, who joins us as our new Administrative Assistant!

Hannah is a Port Wentworth native, so having her join our team is especially meaningful. She has grown up in the community and has continued to give back through her involvement in coaching cheer since 2021. Her passion for the community and her desire to serve the people of Port Wentworth will be a great addition to our Recreation Department.

Hannah is looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know the many people who make up our city team. She is excited to learn, contribute, and be a part of the continued growth and success of the Recreation Department and the City of Port Wentworth.

Please join me in welcoming Hannah to the City of Port Wentworth family! When you see her around City Hall, the Recreation Department, or at one of our many programs and events, please take a moment to introduce yourself and give her a warm welcome.

NOTICE: The baseball and softball fields at Mobley Park will close this Friday, Sept. 25th and remain closed until further notice, as the city prepares to begin renovations. We know these fields have been a favorite spot for so many local players and families, and we're excited about what's ahead for this space.

For everyone's safety, please do not enter this area of the park while renovation work is underway. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we get Mobley Park ready for its next chapter.

Mobley Park baseball and softball fields close Friday, Sept. 25th, until further notice.
