The Cat-Cow stretch is a foundational movement for spinal mobility 🐱🐮
By flexing and extending the spine segment by segment, it restores fluid movement throughout your back and helps prime your nervous system for more complex lifts 🌟
Incorporating this into your warm up or mobility routine can reduce stiffness, improve posture, and support overall movement quality 💪

For week 5 of the National Challenge we are focusing on mobility 🏋️♂️
The world’s greatest stretch is a key movement to include. It:
• Opens up the hips
• Lengthens the hip flexors
• Stretches the hamstrings
• Increases thoracic spine mobility 🌟
This makes it a go to warm up exercise since it prepares the body for movement, reduces stiffness, and promotes better range of motion. Add it into your routine to unlock smoother movement and stronger performance 💪

🌊 Electrolyte of the Day: Chloride
Chloride partners with sodium to maintain proper fluid balance, blood volume, and pH levels. It’s key for digestion and helping cells exchange nutrients efficiently. Without it, hydration just doesn’t work as well.
💡 Hydration Tip: Since chloride is usually found with sodium (think table salt, sea salt), focus on balanced electrolyte intake—especially after sweating a lot—to keep performance steady.

Anything but cups day 🤪 Part of this week’s hydration focus for the National Challenge!💥💦

🦴 Electrolyte of the Day: Calcium
Most people know calcium for bone health, but it’s also essential for muscle contraction, heart rhythm, and nerve communication. Without enough, performance drops and injury risk rises.
💡 Hydration Tip: Dairy isn’t your only option—leafy greens, fortified plant milks, chia seeds, and sardines are all great calcium sources to pair with hydration.

🥔 Electrolyte of the Day: Potassium
Potassium works hand-in-hand with sodium to regulate fluid balance, support healthy blood pressure, and keep your heart and muscles functioning properly. Low potassium can lead to weakness, irregular heartbeat, and muscle cramps.
💡 Hydration Tip: Bananas aren’t your only source! Try sweet potatoes, spinach, avocados, or coconut water to keep your potassium levels in check.
