This turned into the perfect tribute to James Cole, owner of On Demand Shirts and STIMS. Without James, this series wouldn’t be what it is today, his dedication to racing and the success of Modifieds in Texas goes far beyond what most people see. He’s the man behind the scenes making it all happen!

Thank you to Steven Whitaker Jr. for the kind words! This was completely unplanned, but it made for the perfect reel to recognize and thank James for everything he does.

This weekend at Texana Raceway Park, the Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series proudly recognized the drivers who earned Top 10 honors in the 2026 STIMS Points Fund standings. These competitors demonstrated dedication, consistency, and outstanding performance throughout the season, and we were honored to celebrate their accomplishments. Our title sponsor On Demand Shirts and also Rush Race Gear by Austin Witt stepped up in a HUGE WAY to help us recognize out top 10 drivers!

1st Place - Jared Maupin

The Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series presented by On Demand Shirts took the green flag for the 2026 season finale at Texana Raceway Park during the Lance and Martha Toler Last Call Racing Texana Clash. Two separate $1500 to win shows brought two different winners with one of them grabbing their first win of the season.

Seventeen cars checked in for action Friday night and wasted no time bringing the action. DIY equipment sales and rental heat one was three wide at the green flag with Steven Whiteaker Jr storming through the middle of the track to take the lead from fourth off turn two. 2026 champ, Jared Maupin got loose coming into turn three leaving Shawn Sandegren with nowhere to go and the contact brought out a yellow. Take two would see pole sitter Brian Machicek hold off a charge from Logan Dinsmore to lead lap one. Dinsmore would lead laps two through seven, but Whiteaker would grab the lead off of turn four coming to the white flag. Whiteaker would hang on to win DIY Equipment Sales and Rental heat one with Dinsmore second. Sundowner Performance Diesel heat two saw Cody Leonard walk away from the field while “G-Money” Garrett Gregory battled from the third row to finish second.

The main event saw Johnny Torres grab the number one pill in the redraw which put him up front for the 20 lap $1500 to win main event with Garrett Gregory alongside. Torres led the field through the first set of corners, but a push on the entry of turn three would let Gregory lead lap number one. The caution flew before lap number two was completed for Rob Sanderson and Rookie of the Year Steven Whiteaker III. After a couple of attempts, the race was on with Gregory showing the way until a bobble in lap traffic on lap 12 would give the lead to Torres in the 66. Torres then went on to run away and hide in lap traffic until a lap 15 altercation between Shawn Sandegren and Steven Whitaker Jr. brought out a yellow. Torres held off the field for the remaining laps to take his first win of 2026 with Garrett Gregory, Jared Maupin, Ryan Doyon, and Cody Leonard rounding out the top five. Rob Sanderson earned the Mike Terry Motorsports Hard Charger award for starting in 15th and finishing in 8th position.

Night two had 16 cars checked in for another full program with another $1500 on the line. DIY equipment sales and rental heat one brought highs and lows for the Whiteaker Racing team with Steven Whiteaker Jr. taking the win over Ryan Doyon and Steven Whiteaker III losing a power plant just after taking the white flag. Sundowner Performance Diesel heat two saw heartbreak before the green flag even dropped as Logan Dinsmore had the engine expire lining up to take the green. The struggle continued after the start when Garrett Gregory retired before the end of lap one. Through all the drama, it was Brian Harbison who would run away with the top spot while Cameron Dinsmore and Cody Leonard fought tooth and nail for second with Dinsmore ultimately taking the spot.

As the green dropped on the 20 lap main event, pole sitter Cody Leonard took the lead and held off a hard charging Steven Whiteaker Jr. until the caution flew on lap number nine. As the green came back out, Whiteaker, Leonard, and Maupin went three wide into turn one and Whiteaker used the momentum on the high side to take the lead away from Leonard. The caution flew again on lap eleven for Ryan Doyon and Cameron Dinsmore as the two got together in turn three. The remaining nine laps saw no cautions and no challenges for Whiteaker as he would cruise to the victory and the $1500 prize. Friday’s victory was Torres’s first in the GRT Race Cars South Central Region and Whiteaker’s sixth. Garrett Gregory earned the Mike Terry Motorsports Hard Charger award for starting in 11th and finishing in 4th position.

STIMS family — we’re excited to see everyone at Texana Raceway Park this weekend for the Annual Clash! Below is most of what you need for race weekend.

Both nights - We’ll be starting 20 cars in STIMS, matching all Texana classes.

Friday: No drivers meeting. Single‑heat passing points. #1 pill draw resets at 6 PM at the On Demand Shirts trailer, video posted to GroupMe, you can attend in person if you would like.
Redraw Friday will take place at the ODS trailer so we do not delay the show since we have awards at intermission.

Saturday: Drivers meeting at 6 PM with another #1 pill reset and discuss a few things.
Redraw note! We are shaking it up! 1-6 in passing points will redraw 1-6 during DRIVER INTRODUCTIONS!

2026 top 10 recognition Friday at intermission — Please have your car ready to roll onto the track quickly so we don’t hold up the show.

Friday night pit party with a live band and free food — a STIMS/Texana partnership to celebrate all of you.
