Thanks Sellwood Cycle Repair for putting together another great race yesterday in Independence,OR. It was dry, technical and a classic Erik Tonkin course.

It was great to see a bunch of old faces coming out to pedal alongside the new kids coming up. It takes a diverse community all showing up to race, cheer, heckle and support to make an event like this happen year after year and it’s part of what makes our kooky sport so great.

I love being part of this weird culture enough to help organize Portland Trophy Cup for years now with Christy Hawkins and Clint. It takes so much time and energy but it also fills my cup getting to see so many people come out to play bikes.

On November 14th we are putting on our first big weekend night race and we want to invite everyone! It’s called and it will be in East Vancouver, WA. Registration is open via the Trophy Cup site. Thank you!

My favorite and most busy time of year. This one is for Tucker in NYC who wanted a ready to rip CX rig with classic lugs from Richard Sachs Cycles, matching stem and functional fenders from Portland Design Works. saddle and fun loving green for the finish. It’s rides light and lively!

Juliet’s Rock Lobster LR brake mod is off to powder! Took me a minute to source the tapered steel steerer but happy with how it turned out. New fork fits Velo Orange long reach brakes, has a dedicated fender mount and internal ports for the front dynamo hub. I moved the rear bridge up, added fender mounts and ports for a mini rear light.

I also gave Sean’s ‘81 Bianchi some love for a Nuevo retro build in the coming months.

Larry’s new fork is ready to head to Ohio. Eric Dungey did a bang-up job on the splatter paint here. Pacenti MTB crown based on the old Bridgestone MB-1 design, Columbus 1919 disc specific fork blades and custom ISO disc tab.

Misc shop photos of a couple repairs from this week. Dimpling chainstays and moving a brake bridge for Velo Orange long reach brakes and replacing a headtube on an XXL Rivendell Bicycle Works 🥶 that cracked.

Fresh off the heels of MADE and just before the (hopeful!!) mud of Portland Trophy Cup, this beauty is out in the world. Built for a local rider headed to Paris-Brest-Paris next year, it’s designed for long rides, day or night. The bright green is classy without being too uptight and plays well with the mix of SRAM Road and . The 650b wheels are laced to perfection by Sugar Wheel Works with ‘merican made parts by Velocity USA and White Industries. Hidden wires for both front and rear lights. The best part is it all fits inside the EVOC case for travel!
