Portland Winterhawks Sled Hockey Team Info This game requires players to sit in a sled that has blades on the frame and allows the puck to pass underneath.
Sled Hockey was designed to allow participants who have a physical disability to play the game of ice hockey, including youth, and veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Players also have two shortened hockey sticks that they use to not only push themselves along the ice, but it also allows them the ability to pass and shoot the puck as well.
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!
Practices for this season are cancelled until we can find a better time to hold them at. If we have loaned you gear to use then please take advantage of "stick times" at your local ice rink and hopefully we can get something better soon.
Dont forget we have practice tomorrow morning! On the ice at 5:15am so if you need gear be sure to get there a little early for fitting.

Thank you for coming out this morning! We will have practice again next Saturday from 5:15-6:15 AM at the Winterhawks Skating Center. Make sure to arrive early if you dont have gear!

Winterhawks Sled hockey will be holding practices at the Winterhawks skating center in Beaverton from 5:15am - 6:15am on Saturdays this season. I will update the calendar on here and post specific dates for practices as soon as they are locked in! Please pass this along to anyone you may think is interested!

Thank you to the PDX Winterhawks for having us out last night and auctioning off a signed jersey for our sled hockey program!!
Make sure you come out tonight because its our last practice for the season!
PRACTICE CANCELLED for tomorrow. We will have it next week Feb 28th from 7-8pm instead.

HEADS UP!! Sled Hockey will resume again at the MT View ice arena in Vancouver, WA on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the months from Oct-May. Practice times will be from 7-8pm so make sure to get there early so we can get you the appropriate gear!
Our ice time slot for tomorrow at Mt View ice arena is now 2:30pm - 4:30pm! Make sure you show up early so we can get you situated in gear and on the ice asap. Feel free to send a message if you have any questions!
