Our club is heartbroken to share that Max Ducey our Steelheads captain, a PAFC leader, Regionals MVP, USA Revolution National Team player, and former San Diego Lions Australian Rules Football Club player - is facing a serious medical situation after a brain aneurysm led to two strokes over the last few weeks.

Anyone who has played with or against Max knows the kind of person he is: tough, selfless, competitive, generous, and always there for the people around him. He has given so much to this game and this community, and now he and his family are facing a long and difficult road ahead.

Max's family has started a GoFundMe to help with medical bills, living expenses, care support, adaptive equipment, and the many costs that come with what will be a significant recovery.

If you are able to donate, share, or simply send love to Max, Danielle, and his family, it would mean a great deal.

Portland AFC season practices officially kick off this Sunday, April 12 at Clinton Park. Our weekly Sunday practices will be 1-3 pm.

Bring plenty of water, cleats if you have them (running shoes if not), and a ready-to-learn attitude.

After practice, we’ll head to Dingo’s Sports Pub for a team social.

We wrapped last season with some great successes, and we can’t wait to see where we go this year. New, returning, veterans, or occasional fish - we want to see ALL the fish out there.

Portland AFC is joining forces with Columbia Red Branch for an Indoor International Rules match, a fun, fast paced blend of both Australian and Gaelic football. This also may be a preview for an outdoor international clash later this season 👀 🔥
