A great piece of advice from Hazel Findlay is to focus on enjoying the process.

When you show up with the goal of having fun youre going to suceed. And come back again and again.

That's how you make progress and improve.

Guess what route this is?

It's mid way through the week.
How do you reset your attention span?

Research shows that time in nature is one of the best ways to recharge that part of your brain.

Grey skies? No problem.

To climb harder , you need to train at higher intensity.
And that probably means lower volume to build up that strength.

Taking longer breaks between try hard efforts goes a long way.

And you believe , I talked to somebody about beta between attempts on this problem!

This is the new Commit 40L Roll-top Pack!

It's perfect for trips to the gym, to work, or for travel.

With an all-aeather roll top design, it works in all seasons.

Plus the front shoe pocket with an air filtering liner features a water resistant zipper.

And at launch it comes with the two liter organizer bag!

New bag announcement!!

Pretty excited to bring this new product to climbers this fall. And it’s got all the features people love about our Convertible Totepack but also with a water-tight main pocket.

I set out to find these boulders, cycling with my sling bag full of shoes and some swim trunks.

And — success! But ultimately the sandstone boulders were a little… sandy 😂

Fun discovery though!

Better to keep moving than sit around.
Although there’s really no reason to climb with a sling bag on…

I got a few funny looks filming this one 😂

This is your sign to add in some low-intensity days, because you can’t practice technique and try hard at the same time.

Here’s what’s actually happening when you go full blast every session

The second a move gets hard, your body abandons technique and reaches for power. It muscles through.

And it works often enough that you never fix the thing that needed fixing. You just get better at grinding.

Technique is a skill, and skills get built when your brain has room to pay attention. You don’t have that room at your limit. You’re too busy not falling.

So the low-intensity day isn’t the throwaway session. It’s the one where the learning happens.

Climb stuff two or three grades below your max.
Place every foot on purpose.
Keep your arms straight.
Move slow enough to notice what you’re doing.

It’ll feel unproductive, but that feeling is the point. You’re finally practicing instead of surviving.

Then when you go back to your project, the good movement is just there.
You built it on the easy days.

(The bag’s ours, by the way.
Made for exactly these sessions. )
