The Championship game and the Home Run Derby was an awesome day and your acceptance, Michelle Freedman, of the check for $750 with an equal match earned $1500 to support JDRF research impressed the fans. The home run derby was fun to watch. The 1st place winner was Scott Schepige of the Thunder with 9 home that day and 2nd place was Tim Peter of the Sea Dogs with 6 home runs that day. The trophy for the winner of the Columbia division was the Bridgetown Thunder and for the Cascadia division was the Rose City Cardinals. Thank you to all of the players in the NWIBL 18+ category. Stand by for more games of the 30+ and the championship games which will be held mid September.

Come out to visit the NWIBL 18+ final festivities on Sunday, Aug. 25th at Walker Stadium in Lents Park. Championship game begins at noon. Depending on the outcome of this game, there might be a 2nd game played. This will be followed by the home run derby. We will present trophy’s and a check to Type One Diabetes for all the home runs hit this season. With 2, possibly 3 games to go, we have had 73 home runs. Bring your own food and water and join then fun.

Tomorrow, Sunday August 26th is the final championship game of season 2018 for Northwest IndependentBaseball League (NWIBL). fighting for the win is the Stumptown Mavericks and the Rose City Cardinals. Come on out to Walker Stadium at Lents Park to watch this battle. The game will be followed by a Home Run Derby where a check for $660 will be presented to JDRF (Type 1 Diabetes) representing the 66 Home runs hit this season.

Two great games going on at the Keizer Volcanoes Stadium today. The first between the Athletics and the Bad news Bears ended in a 7-7 tie after 8 innings. Watch the schedule to catch the next one.
