inspired by a conversation about our 5 year journey and how different life is than what we could have imagined…here is a letter to my 23 year old self 🤍

Baby Girl:
You don’t even know what’s about to come. You think you’ve got it all figured out. Married by 25, owning a home probably in texas somewhere and all kids popped by 30. That whole thing. You’ve got really great goals and you’re going to accomplish a lot of them - but not quite in the order you may think or maybe not at all- and that’s perfectly okay. don’t rush a single thing. Turns out… your twenties are for making mistakes and that’s good because it’s where the growth happens- so don’t sweat it. You think you’ve known what it’s like for your heart to ache, but I promise you - you don’t. Stay strong- stay true to you and know👏🏼your👏🏼worth. Don’t settle. You are resilient, independent, tenacious & beautiful. You are going to make some very very hard decisions…Some that change the trajectory of your life forever ( like leaving a full time manager role to become an entrepreneur and model, getting married, and then getting divorced, or like moving to LA from portland, falling in love again only to be left broken hearted, betrayed and empty after pouring your heart, soul and money (🏠) into the relationship *again*. And I know you’ve always wanted to know exactly what your future looks like- but if you had known all those things you maybe wouldnt have taken the leap of faith like you did. You wouldnt have learned all the lessons you needed to that will grow you into a fiercer woman who knows herself better. listen to your friends. pay attention to your gut. Spend a little bit more time alone. You’re going to get let down time and time again because you wear your heart on your sleeve-but don’t change- because it’s vulnerable and beautiful. always remember the reason why you can keep going and moving forward your connection to God. Never lose that. Never lose the zest you have for life and the light that shines from within. that’s what makes you- YOU.
