⚾🏆 Pretty Cool Honor!! 🏆⚾
I wasn’t able to attend the banquet and induction ceremony this past Saturday, October 17th, but I’m very thankful and honored to have been selected to the Ohio Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026!
This honor comes on the heels of my previous inductions into the Semi-Pro Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame and the Defiance College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Looking at the list of inductees, there are so many amazing athletes and people, many of whom I know personally, who I feel are far more deserving than I’ll ever be. But I’m certainly thankful, humbled, and proud to be mentioned alongside such an incredible group of individuals.
Life is a funny thing. I’ve had my share of ups and downs, successes and failures, positives and negatives. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, and Lord knows I haven’t always gotten everything right. But one thing I’ve learned is that life isn’t about how many times you fall short. It’s about continuing to get back up, keep truckin’, and stay on the path.
I’m especially thankful for the honors and opportunities that have come my way since my high school days. Never in a million years would I have imagined some of the things I’ve been fortunate enough to experience through the game of baseball.
At the end of the day, I’m just a normal Joe who loved playing the game of baseball. A guy who was fortunate enough to compete, meet some incredible people, build lifelong friendships, and eventually have the opportunity to pass along a little of what I learned to the next generation after my playing days were over.
And honestly, that last part might be one of the most rewarding things of all.
A huge congratulations to all the other inductees! What an incredible honor for everyone involved.
And to all the coaches, teammates, friends, family, and people who believed in me throughout the years, THANK YOU! You all played a part in the journey, whether you realize it or not.
And to those who told me “you can’t” along the way…
Thank you, too. Sometimes those two words can provide more motivation than you’ll ever know. 🎯
I’ve learned over the years that you don’t have to be perfect to make a positive impact. You just have to keep showing up, keep learning, keep growing, and hopefully leave a few people and places better than you found them.
The trophies and honors are pretty cool, but the people, relationships, memories, and lessons along the way are what truly make the journey special.
Have a great week, peeps!
I’m just a normal Joe who’s been pretty darn blessed. ❤️⚾
Be proud of your accomplishments while also remembering your failures💪
