Thank you to our PHDA teachers for teaching highland and ceilidh dancing to spectators at the McMinnville Scottish Festival. It was a huge success! We had great participation from the audience and filled the stage with children and adults wishing to learn. Potential dancers have already connected with us to set up lessons. Huge thank you to the Celtic Heritage Alliance for hosting the McMinnville Scottish festival. We're looking forward to offering more free lessons at local highland games next year.

💙 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 💙 Have you or someone you know ever wanted a fun lesson on Highland Dancing made for beginners? Because NEW THIS YEAR - We're offering FREE Highland Dance Workshops on both days of the festival! No need to register or sign up, just show up at one (or all 🙂) of the workshop times at the Highland Dance Stage behind the Leslie Lewis Pavilion!

We are also offering workshops for traditional Ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”) dancing! Grab a friend, partner or come solo and learn traditional Ceilidh dancing! Ceilidh dancing is a traditional Scottish social dance characterized by lively music and group participation, often involving a caller to guide participants through the steps. The term 'ceilidh' comes from the Scottish Gaelic word for 'gathering' or 'visit' and is integral to Scottish culture. Enjoy learning and dancing the Gay Gordons and Canadian Barn Dance.

We have some great teachers leading these sessions, and they are excited to help you dip your toe into the art of Highland Dance! Who knows, you may find a hidden talent you didn't know you had!
