Are you in a fair weather fitness routine? This is what I like to call it when people go into the gym and just do a workout based on how they feel - no plan, no set reps, just workout until you feel ready to go.
Although all movement is great movement, it will be near impossible to close in on your goals without a solid plan.
Our bodies are extremely adaptable and they love consistency. When you follow a plan for your workout, you are able to
🌟learn how a movement is supposed to be done
🌟get stronger on each movement - you have the ability to build strength throughout the time you are completing the plan
🌟give your muscles have enough time to rest in between - this helps prevent over training, or under training
🌟help keep you balanced - if you only workout what you want to, then you are going to be strong in some areas, but weak in others
I typically have people follow plans for 6-8 weeks to get the full benefits. There are so many reasons why having a plan is SO important, especially when starting in the gym - your body will thank you 🤍

I might look like I’m going to workout but I’m actually taking a rest day!
I used to hate the idea of rest days - I thought it was going to cause me take a step back, derail my progress, or that I was being lazy for not utilizing a day to exercise.
Wow was I WRONG!
Now I realize that the rest days keep my progress on track! Rest days are so important because they
🌟keep you from getting mentally and physically fatigued
🌟help your muscles repair and GROW
🌟prevent injury and muscle overuse
🌟help you have more energy when you get back into the gym
You’re actually better off taking a couple of rest days every week. Now I take between a 2 or 3 rest days a week, or more if I feel especially run down, and I don’t feel like my progress is going to dwindle because I know about the amazing benefits of resting. How many rest days do you like to take a week?

I hear this so often - I work so I don’t have time to workout, meanwhile the screen time shows that there was time to workout 4 times that day AND get all of the other tasks out of the way. This all comes down to what you p r i o r i t i z e. If your priority is to live a healthy lifestyle, it will happen; if your priority is to go on your phone and check social media, it will happen. What you prioritize will happen regardless of how much time you have. How can you make living a healthy lifestyle more of a priority?
🌟figure out why you want to make a change
🌟schedule out time to start making a change
🌟start off slow! Set aside a half an hour to get movement into your day, living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to live in the gym
It all sounds a lot more attainable if you figure out what your priorities and goals are. How do you prioritize your health?

Focus on fitness for you, not other people! I love to workout for me. I used to do it because I wanted to look better to other people; this was not sustainable and came from an insecure place. NOW I workout for myself - to feel good and feel confident! Remember to workout for YOU! If you need help getting started, or just need some extra motivation, reach out 💪🏽 📸:

Progress is not always linear! Since I know a lot of people have made goals for the new year, I feel like I need to bring this up! What should you do when you think you have hit a plateau with your motivation or are overwhelmed?
✨remember your end goal - what are you trying to accomplish?
✨make some littler goals - think of each of these as a stepping stone to get to your bigger end goal
✨hire someone to help you - sometimes a goal may seem attainable but you need the extra help from someone else to get there
✨make small tweaks - sometimes when people get into a rut they will make HUGE changes. These can derail you from your main goal. Sometimes you just need a little tweak here and there
Remember, progress is not always a straight line and sometimes you will hit points where the goal seems too big or that your motivation dips. Sometimes you need to take a step back to figure out how to stay focused and hit your goals! Happy goal-getting 💛

Talk about a total body recomposition! S W I P E to see where she started. I am so proud of how far this girl has come. Before Jen started working with me she was mainly a runner, and then she started lifting! You need to resistance train to build muscle! She trusted the process and it shows. It doesn’t happen overnight, but when you put in the work, you will see the results. If you are having trouble figuring out where to start, send me a DM! ..

Stronger and stronger with every rep! I LOVE that I am able to work with my sister. She is a runner, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t strength train - lifting for runners is important because it
✨helps prevent injury
✨makes your body more efficient ✨makes running feel better
If you’re a runner (or even if you’re not!), weight lifting should be part of your routine! Send me a DM to start now 💪🏽 ..

🌟you can’t out train a bad diet!🌟
Unfortunately, this is true. But something a lot of people don’t realize is how some of their “healthy” choices are affecting their progress. Did you know that açaí bowls can have more calories and sugar than a donut? This is why I teach people to incorporate macro counting into their lifestyle!
But what is macro counting?
🌟each food is made of carbs, protein, fat, and fiber
🌟protein, fat, and carbs have calories
🌟the ratios of these calories in proteins, carbs, and fats can determine if you gain, lose, or maintain fat and muscle
I can show you how to use this info to make gains in your lifestyle! DM me for my info how 🌟 ..
