Charming 2-bedroom house boat in Portsmouth with AC, WiFi

Yesterday, a fire at the Portsmouth Marina caused the presumed total loss of a storage facility on the property. The fire was contained to a single building at the Marina complex.

No serious injuries thankfully were reported. Marina operations are unaffected, and no customer boats were damaged. Cleanup will continue through the next several weeks.

First responders quickly controlled the situation, and ensured no environmental impacts to nearby Sagamore Creek. “There is no signs of oil sheen, or pollution, that happened as a result of the fire, and we set up the boom as a precautionary measure to prevent any of the debris from entering the waterway,” reported Coast Guard Lt. Commander David Bourbeau, Marine Safety Detachment in Portsmouth.

The collective fire departments and other safety professionals who arrived on the scene did an outstanding job. Our team cannot overstate our gratitude. We’re humbled by the outpouring of community support. We are committed to our members and others who enjoy this beautiful watershed. We remain optimistic that we can work with our local officials to clean up, rebuild, and continue the Marina as a proud community hub.
