There is so much going on in the Twisted Ballerina. I accidentally discovered that this exercise was helping me feel like the pole was close by rather than 300 ft away from the reaching hand. I tried to maximize the time that I have because I cannot train like a professional pole athlete. I'm in graduate school, a mom, and my weight training and off the pole training have to combine a lot of elements in a single exercise. Some would argue it's not optimal, but it's optimal for my reality.
You voted for it- one arm air walk or spin (on spin, not static). Theae are some pointers that helped me achieve this after struggling with this for quite some time. Most people learn with both hands on the pole and slowly take the lower hand off. That did not work for me and if that doesn't work for you, then these tips might help. However, having both hands on the pole when doing it from the air as opposed to the ground is likely going to be necessary. When you're doing it from the ground, your body position relative to the pole will likely be quite a bit different than doing it from the air. Whether you learn this from the air or the ground is up to your preference. It definitely might be easier to learn this from the air, but if you have to practice a trick 1,000 times like me, then the setup of getting into the air does add time and does take away stamina. This is why I moved to the ground. Once I stopped trying to enter this shape with two arms on the pole, it actually came fairly quickly to me.
I was quite convinced that I was lacking grip strength, but performing dead hangs ON AND OFF the pole demonstrated to me that the grip strength was not my weak point. Grip strength is still critical for this shape. If you have small hands and a 45 mm pole like me, it might be more difficult for you compared to other people with bigger hands.
I'm a beginner at this movement, so I more than likely missed things and I wouldn't consider this something that I have mastered. Good luck!
Nothing crazy. Just feel pretty movements. Extended butterfly to brass monkey had scared me longer than I care to admit. I think it has turned out nicely.

You can change the graphic however you want, but you can't change the American preference. America is a product of the food environment and their personal preferences + values.
I'm also not trying to dunk on those who work in public health. Doesn't matter what you put up there, y'all got an uphill battle. 😅 You could have the "perfect" diagram for people to follow- but it doesn't mean they're going to choose health for themselves.
The nutrition crisis has a lot of external components that make choosing health difficult. This is why glp-1s have gotten so popular. I don't blame people for wanting the noise to be quieted.
That being said, as long as the preferences remain for hyper processed and hyperpalatable foods, that's what the environment is going to be and that's how the markets are going to be driven.
For everyone who seeks and values health, development of their personal nutrition strategies in a nutritional war zone will be a must.
Also, this isn't an anti-animal food post. However, I do think the way that we consume animal foods is highly problematic and unethical.
In good news, alcohol consumption is on the decline. 😎

Bending to people's comfort is not being a peace maker. Inauthenticity for the sake of superficial harmony denies the opportunity for iron sharpening iron and nobody improves. Don't dull your spirit for others who demand it or you will find you must dissolve yourself entirely- if it's not one thing, it will be another. Don't mistake superficial peace as an act of love for others- it's people-pleasing and is true manipulation veiled as good intentions to avoid discomfort.

I will no longer people please for the sake of surface connection, though my intentions have always been rooted in valuing other humans and being of help and service. I will also no longer be intimidated by individuals who believe I am whatever label they want to assign because I have a different belief. This has never been about being too scared to speak up, I've silenced myself because of an attempt to remain connected to humans so I may be of service within the health realm. However, my service will always be minimized by operating in this way as the issues that affect health and nutrition run deep and personal. I am not seeking to be a mega account.
