If anyone can come tomorrow morning and help us lay sod we would really appreciate the help. We will start between 6 and 7 in the morning and will quit before it gets too hot. With enough help we should be through by 10:00. Thanks to all the guys that helped last week with the sand and peat moss application on the greens, you did a fantastic job!! Monday we will do the final prep on the greens and Tuesday we will start spreading the new Champion sprigs around 7:00 a.m. We need as many volunteers as possible Tuesday for the sprigging process. The sprigging is light duty work and consists of taking handfuls of sprigs out of gunny sacks and scattering them evenly across the entire surface of the green. We should be able with enough help to get them finished in one day. After the sprigging is done Benito will top dress the greens with peat moss and sand and start watering them in. We have to put 5 minutes of water on them every 30 minutes during the daylight hours! We are fortunate to be a Member Owned course and to have members from all walks of life that can pitch in when we have a project. Our members have replaced the greens before and we wouldn’t have the fantastic irrigation system that we have today if it wasn’t for our members doing ALL the work installing it. Please help if you are able and by October we should all be playing on the new greens.
Thanks, Mike Thomas
