I hope you can join us for the next Hill Alumnae Chapel Talk with Molly Hopkins '13 on Wednesday April 14th at 8PM via Zoom.

Molly attended The Hill School as a 4-year boarder following her father, John Hopkins Jr. '78, and sister, Anna Carouge '08, graduating in 2013. During her time on campus, she was an active member of the varsity field hockey and softball teams as well as a member of Hill Trebles, Chamber Choir, and an admissions tour guide, where she was able to convey her love and passion for the school and it's curriculum. Molly holds a special place in her heart for The Hill School, given her family background (fun fact, her parents met on the Hill campus!) and the sense of community it instilled in her. After graduation, Molly attended Bucknell University then later moved to Philadelphia, where what started as a career in software sales soon turned into a journey to find her true professional passion: brand marketing. Through a few bumps and twists, Molly navigated her way to her current position as a Senior Account Executive for the marketing firm Archetype all because of one thing: her strong community. During our next chapel talk, Molly is excited to share her experience growing up in small communities from the start - from rural Pennsylvania to The Hill School and beyond - and how that has shifted her approach to the term "community" and networking in general.

Know the ways of the ones who take care of you, so that you may take care of them.
Introduce yourself. Be accountable as the one who comes asking for life. Ask permission before taking. Abide by the answer.
Never take the first. Never take the last. Take only what you need.
Take only that which is given.
Never take more than half. Leave some for others. Harvest in a way that minimizes harm.
Use it respectfully. Never waste what you have taken. Share.
Give thanks for what you have been given.
Give a gift, in reciprocity for what you have taken.
Sustain the ones who sustain you and the earth will last forever.

Did you know The Hill School Alumni Association now supports an affiliate group for Squash?! Check out their page and give it a follow. Welcome to the club, Hill Squash Association!

In case you missed our first newsletter, here is a message from HSA president, Alf Kennedy '82.

Welcome to the newly formed Hill Squash Association (HSA)! Whether you played hardball, softball, or number one through nine, at some point in the past you were part of a unique opportunity, and fostering this opportunity for young men and women at The Hill is what the HSA is all about.

The game of squash has undergone a metamorphosis in the days since playing on the frozen tundra of Sweeney Gym; however, the chance for leadership, teamwork, competition both individually and within a team and a sense of esprit du corps in a game we can keep forever has not. Learning to accept inevitable failure as well as fleeting success in a gracious manner continues to be an important lesson learned by a Hill student athlete.

Like many of our parents, mine sent me to The Hill for scholastic purposes. They wanted me to be a competitive applicant with a different future than theirs. What I have since realized is the level of competition between students, whether on or off the court, made the difference. Our hope for the HSA is to help shape a difference for the young men and women who continue to play the game we have loved, while representing the School and team we remember so fondly. Together, we hope to create a network for past, current, and future players. We will strive to host gatherings, support the teams at tournaments, assist with recruiting future players for The Hill.

Whatsoever things are true; join us to make a difference.

Sincerely,
Alfred P Kennedy, Jr. '82
